My List of 50 Things

Here is a list of 50 things that I would like to do before I die:

  1. Swim in a moonlit cove, in Hawaii
  2. Walk along a random street in Paris, stop at a café where there are tables and chairs outside, order coffee and bread or a pastry, and watch people passing through my moment.
  3. Taste vanilla in Madagascar
  4. Visit Paris in the spring. Bonus points if I can walk beneath a big black umbrella, while it rains
  5. Visit Bali and experience something I haven’t before.
  6. Touch white sands along an ocean beach, in full moonlight.
  7. Visit Italy. See Florence and Venice, and the great art and architecture of Rome.
  8. Go to the fields where Van Gough painted his sunflowers, and sketch and paint there.
  9. Write a book
  10. Illustrate an entire book all by myself and get it published.
  11. Drive a Vespa. Maybe even own one.
  12. Be told that I changed their life, by someone who’s life changed the world. In a good way.
  13. Paint 8 portraits and have another gallery show
  14. Sell a painting to someone that I didn’t previously know.
  15. Fall in love with someone that has fallen in love with me too.
  16. Visit Russia
  17. Learn to Meditate and incorporate this into my daily being.
  18. Visit Morocco (and Fez too) and buy one beautiful thing to take home with me.
  19. Take a class on wheel pottery and make at least one beautiful thing to keep, and one to give away.
  20. Visit the mountain places in Chile, where the best Roses are grown. Have bread and wine there and sit to watch the view.
  21. Watch my daughter grow up happy and content, both with her world, and her actions
  22. Kiss my daughter’s child and know.
  23. Have a custom made pair of boots that are everything I’ve ever dreamed they would be, and more.
  24. Be friends with Neil Gaimon
  25. See the Pyramids
  26. Ride a Camel
  27. Swim with dolphins- again.
  28. Go to Main and see the things that people see when they are in Main.
  29. Buy a home of my very own
  30. Live in another country and learn the language there.
  31. Go deep sea diving
  32. Kayak in the Bay Area
  33. Go surfing at least once
  34. Have a custom made corset
  35. Own an entire suit made of soft dark red leather and be told on wearing it, “You were meant to dress like that”
  36. Bring my characters to life
  37. Make more friends
  38. Increase my vocabulary
  39. Learn the inherent benefit of Moderation, on a personal level
  40. Keep a truly clean home (or hire a cleaning service)
  41. Learn to paint with ink in the traditional Japanese style, and create something of beauty
  42. Continue to seek magic, and find it
  43. Lose weight (but not too much weight- just enough to keep me healthy and self satisfied)
  44. Take a fancy cooking class
  45. Teach
  46. Ride a horse in a non-guided journey along the beach, as the sun sets, with someone I love.
  47. Learn enough to get by in Russian, Italian, Spanish, and Japanese
  48. Age gracefully. BE one of those people that gets more beautiful with age.
  49. Approach the unknown with more joy and less fear
  50. Find another 50 things.
